Circle of Life/ Ray of Hope
World Trade Center Memorial Site Proposal
The two key elements of my Memorial design are water and light.
Opposites, like Yin and Yang, they represent light and dark, hot and
cold. Light is warm like the sun, water is cooling, soothing,
reflective, it purifies. On the footprint of the South Tower (5) I
envision a tiered dome-like structure, "The Circle of Life" made up of
eleven concentric circular platforms rising thirty three feet from a
surrounding pool of water. This powerful sculptural and spiritual space
represents for me the purification and sanctification of those who
passed on. My wish is that the souls of those who died on 9/11 will
ascend to a higher realm.
