windwheels
Connemara Conservancy Foundation Dallas, TX 1993 windwheels is installed on a 72-acre nature conservancy outside of Dallas, Texas as part of an annual event in which artists are invited to create site-specific works. I was interested in responding to the movement of water and wind through the landscape. Designed to look like water wheels, seven wind-activated wheels constructed of painted translucent plexiglass discs with one foot fins made of aluminum sheet were suspended between trees across a creek. Their spinning motion demonstrated the flow of wind down the creek along an imaginary brush line through the creek's center.
